The Workshop

The psychodramatic method investigates immediate behaviour in all its dimensions, from action, through action, and in action. Its most significant sociodynamic effect is the modification of stereotyped roles: dramatic action brings greater flexibility in facing life's difficult situations, on a journey from conflict to generative dialogue.

This hands-on, experiential workshop explores six different approaches to directing scenes:

• Morenian approach
• Psychoanalytic approach
• Neo-psychodrama
• Holistic approach
• Jungian approach
• Transgenerational approach

Each of these approaches lets us explore the dramatic scene from multiple perspectives, like different mirrors in which we observe ourselves. The image comes from the Infinity Mirror Rooms of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, installations that create an effect of infinity through mirrors and reflective lights. Building on this concept, Adriana Piterbarg developed an approach for group work: instead of physical mirrors, it is the participants themselves who embody the role of the mirror and the tuning fork, reflecting and resonating with the protagonist.

The workshop explores the intersection of the poetic, the symbolic, and the unsettling, aiming to establish new connections and transitions, from repetition to innovation, exploring different rhythms in scene direction. It draws on Dramatic Multiplication, created by E. Pavlovsky and H. Kesselman, and several of the author's own creations: O Circuito, Estruturas Mutantes, A Regra 3/4/5, Dois Palcos, among others.

The aim is to develop a multiplicity of scenarios for handling the unexpected, enhancing spontaneity, fluidity of ideas, and playfulness. And, above all, to keep asking: how do we do what we do?

From stereotype to original, from original to absurd, from absurd to appropriate, and from appropriate to multiplicity. Mirrors that reflect, that multiply, that discover, that cover… Espelhos infinitos.
